FRANCE have returned home to a heroes’ reception as thousands gathered in Paris awaiting their return.
After over a month in Russia following seven games and a World Cup trophy to boot, Les Bleus landed to a rapturous reception with the streets packed in red, white and blue.

The players wasted no time in boarding a flight back this morning and will soon show off the World Cup trophy to those who have gathered on the Champs-Elysees.
Supporters have had to wait 20-years for this moment and took to the streets last night to celebrate long into the early hours.
They woke up to sore heads and memorable front pages today after their second World Cup win.
The French players also inundated social media with pictures of the close-knit group showing off the famous gold trophy.

The country remained in party mood today with French publication L’Equipe calling their success “an eternal happiness”.
Alongside the caption was the image of Hugo Lloris lifting the trophy with team-mates in the Moscow rain.
La Croix used a similar image with the apt headline “On top of the world” while Toulouse publication La Depeche wrote “We love you”.

La Voix De Nord had an image of hundreds of supporters celebrating with the words “Thank you”.
Paul Pogba, scorer of France’s third, led the celebrations from the dressing room and cheekily sang “football’s coming home” with trophy in hand.
The Manchester United man showed clips on Instagram of the French players in party mood as they crashed Didier Deschamp’s press conference to sing and dance on the tables as reporters watched on.
Wonderkid Mbappe became only the second teenager since Pele in 1958 to score at a World Cup final.
